The AAA batteries are commonly used in small electronic devices such as TV remotes, MP3 players, and digital cameras. Devices requiring higher current intensities but operating at the same voltage utilize larger AA batteries, which offer three times the capacity of AAA batteries. However, with the increasing efficiency and miniaturization of modern electronics, many products designed for AA are being replaced by models that accept AAA batteries. An AAA battery measures 44.5mm in length and 10.5mm in diameter, with an alkaline weight of approximately 11.5 grams each, while lithium AAA batteries weigh around 7.6 grams and rechargeable Ni-MH batteries range from 14 to 15 grams. The nominal voltage of alkaline and lithium AAA batteries is 1.5V, whereas Ni-MH or NiCd batteries operate at 1.2V, with capacities normally between 900 to 1155mAh (3240 to 4158 coulombs).
